How-to: Clean and Descale your Moccamaster

Cleaning and descaling your Moccamaster is essential for maintaining its performance and ensuring a consistently great brew. Follow these step-by-step instructions using Cafetto’s recommended products to keep your Moccamaster running smoothly for years to come.

Moccamaster Cleaning Method:

1. Prepare Cleaning Solution: Dissolve 1 scoop of Cafetto Brew Clean in two liters of warm water.
2. Clean Moccamaster Parts: Remove the removable parts of your Moccamaster and soak them in the cleaning solution for 15 minutes. Wash the parts thoroughly in the solution, then rinse.
3. Clean Moccamaster Carafe: Pour the cleaning solution into the carafe and let it sit for 15 minutes. Afterward, discard the solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
4. Final Steps: Your Moccamaster is now clean and ready to use! Note: Cafetto Brew Clean is not suitable for running through the Moccamaster machine; only use it to clean individual parts and the carafe.

Moccamaster Descaling Method:

1. Prepare Descaling Solution: In a bowl, dissolve 1 sachet of Cafetto Renew in 1 liter of warm water. Ensure the water is warm, not hot.
2. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the solution well to ensure the Renew is completely dissolved.
3. Run Descaling Cycle: Pour the solution into the water reservoir of your Moccamaster machine. Open the filter basket’s flow rate by using the switch on the side of the brew basket (filled circle). Then, turn your Moccamaster on to run a brew cycle. The solution from the reservoir will flow through the machine.
4. Discard Solution: Once the brew cycle is complete, discard the descaling solution.
5. Rinse: Fill the water reservoir with cold water and run another brew cycle to rinse the machine. Discard the water.
6. Final Rinse: Run one final brew cycle with clean water and discard it.
7. Final Steps: Your Moccamaster is now descaled and ready to use!

• Remember to clean and descale your Moccamaster every 3-4 months to maintain optimal performance.
