The Moka Pot, also known as a Stovetop Coffee Maker, has a rich history dating back to the early 1930s when Alfonso Bialetti invented it in Italy. Inspired by the growing popularity of espresso, Bialetti aimed to create a device that could bring the rich taste of espresso into homes worldwide. The name “Moka” pays homage to the city of Mocha in Yemen, renowned for its coffee beans.
At The Coffee Collective, we’re thrilled to offer a diverse range of stovetop coffee makers, including Moka Pots, in various brands, sizes, and colors to match your unique style and brewing preferences.

- Coffee Beans
- Kettle
- 96°C Water
Ingredients:
- Brew Ratio 1:10
- Medium-Fine Grind Coffee Beans
Method:
- Prepare the Moka Pot:
- Unscrew the top chamber from the bottom chamber.
- Remove the filter basket and fill the bottom chamber with water, just below the valve level.
- Insert the filter basket back into the bottom chamber.
- Add Coffee:
- Add coffee to the filter basket, ensuring even distribution without overpacking. Avoid tamping the grounds tightly.
- Assemble:
- Twist on the lid firmly, ensuring a tight seal. Be cautious of the hot bottom chamber.
- Brewing:
- Place the Moka Pot on the smallest burner of your stove over low-medium heat. Adjust for gas stoves to prevent flames from reaching the sides.
- When you hear a gentle bubbling sound, remove the Moka Pot from the heat immediately. Brewing usually takes between 3-6 minutes.
- Serve & Enjoy:
- Pour the brewed coffee into your favorite cup or mug and savor the rich flavors.
Brew Ratio Guide:
- 3 Cup: 15g coffee / 150g water
- 6 Cup: 30g coffee / 300g water
- 9 Cup: 45g coffee / 450g water
Notes:
- Adjust Brew Ratio: Customize the strength and flavor by adjusting the coffee-to-water ratio. Less water for a stronger brew, more water for a milder taste.
- Water Level: Never fill the bottom chamber above the valve to avoid bitter or burnt-tasting coffee.
- Even Distribution: Use a distribution tool to evenly spread coffee grounds in the filter basket.
- Lid Safety: Protect your hand from the hot bottom chamber when screwing on the lid.
- Observation: Keep the lid slightly open to monitor when the brewing is complete by observing the spluttering sound.
- Cleaning: Hand wash your Moka Pot with warm water; avoid using the dishwasher.
