Coffee Brew Guide: Aeropress

Share With Your Friends

The Aeropress has revolutionized the way coffee lovers brew their favorite cup, offering portability, simplicity, and exceptional flavor wherever you go. Developed in 2005 by Alan Adler, frustrated with traditional brewing methods, the Aeropress combines pressure and immersion brewing to deliver a delicious cup of coffee with ease.

Aeropress Recipe:

Equipment:

  • Aeropress Coffee Maker
  • Kettle
  • 85°C Water
  • Paper Filters
  • Coffee Beans
  • Medium-Fine Grind

Standard Method:

  1. Preparation:
    • Place a paper filter into the cap and rinse it with boiled water.
    • Twist the cap with the filter into your Aeropress chamber.
    • Stand the chamber on top of your mug.
  2. Brewing:
    • Add freshly ground coffee to the Aeropress chamber.
    • Pour water into the chamber, stir gently, and insert the plunger about 1cm into the chamber.
    • Let your brew sit for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your taste preference.
  3. Press & Serve:
    • Apply consistent pressure to the plunger until it’s completely pressed against the coffee grounds.
    • Discard the paper filter and puck, then rinse the Aeropress.
    • Enjoy your flavorful cup of coffee!

Brew Ratios:

  • 15g Coffee : 225g Water

Notes:

  • Adjust Grind Size: If the Aeropress is draining too quickly, grind the coffee finer. If there’s too much resistance and it’s draining slowly, grind the coffee slightly coarser.
  • Customization: You can adjust the water temperature, brew time, and brew ratio to suit your taste preferences.

The Aeropress is not just a coffee maker; it’s a lifestyle for coffee enthusiasts. With its versatility and simplicity, you can experiment with various techniques and recipes to brew your perfect cup of coffee.
